National U16 Clubs 2015
Woodley U16's Crowned National Champions!
As runners up of the Regional League, Woodley headed to Redbridge on the 2nd/3rd May for the U16 National Finals. Following the group stages and various re-shuffles Woodley claimed their place in the Final vs Tameside.
The final proved to be 40 minutes of very exciting netball with some awesome under-pressure shooting from both sides ... the lead changed at every quarter (end of Q1 9-8 Tameside, half-time 17-15 Woodley, end Q3 26-23 Tameside, full-time 31-30 Woodley ... the winning goal coming in the dying seconds after a penalty was awarded to Woodley).
This is an amazing achievement for the club with their first national title and the first time a team from the South Region has won for a very long time!
Congratulations to both the Players and Coaches for their achievements over the finals weekend!
Weston Park Blades played for 7th/8th position against Oldham (these teams were in the final last year) - Blades finished in 8th place.
