Regional Excel Pathway

Competition is vital for the development of players in the Excel pathway, and access to different levels of competition is important. For this reason, very careful consideration needs to be given to any rules which restrict players’ access to entering more than one level of competition.

For players involved in more than one team, there will be occasions when decisions will need to be made as to which competition a player plays in on a certain date. As a general guide competitions should be given priority in the order below. However, the individual player needs and the opportunity for the competition to meet those needs should also be taken into consideration. For this reason, it is requested that for National Excel level players, the advice of the National Excel Head Coach is taken when deciding on a player’s competition priority.
