CAPS & CAPS Clubs

CAPS is an accreditation scheme which helps netball clubs function in the most efficient way ensuring the clubs offer a quality environment for all members. It is directly linked to Sport England's Clubmark, which provides a national standard for good practice in the development of players, coaches, officials and volunteers, also helping to clarify roles and responsibilities within the club at all three levels Bronze, Silver and Gold.

It is a great scheme to highlight all the good development work that a club is already doing, but at the same time help to further develop the club.

In line with the Clubmark award, CAPS focuses on four key areas that impact Netball clubs:

  • Duty of Care and Child Protection
  • Coaching and Competition
  • Club Management/Administration
  • Sports Equity and Ethics

CAPS consists of 3 levels, Bronze, Silver and Gold, this allows all clubs to ensure they are operating in a safe and effective manner whilst also giving those clubs that want to, the chance to further develop and really shine!

There is plenty of support available to help clubs work through the CAPS process, you can contact your County Netball Development Officer, or the Regional Development Officer, Tracey Stone, email: south@englandnetball.co.uk

To find out where you local CAPS accredited club are please visit the Counties pages.

CAPS Transition Information

In order to improve your club’s experience of CAPS we have introduced some new resources to support clubs going through the process of accreditation and re-accreditation, a new incentives scheme and a new CAPS section on the England Netball website that will be online shortly.

Any club that is CAPS accredited or has registered for CAPS should have been sent a letter or email explaining the changes in Clubmark criteria and what you then have to do in order to meet these new requirements. In order to help you complete the additional evidence there have been a number of documents and templates created to explain the process and make it as simple as possible. All the documents you need are below but if there is anything else that you require just contact your Netball Development Officer or the Regional Co-ordinator.
